The Oh Family
Gabriel and Florence had four children, three sons and one daughter. Jason Joo Sun Oh was was on 12th February, 1963, Nigel Joo Hai Oh on 23rd May, 1964 and Colin Joo Eeong Oh on 3rd July, 1965. Their daughter, Karen Chin Siaw Oh was born on 6th May, 1970.
In 1962, in conjunction with fellow dentist, Lawrence Cho, Gabriel set up his own Dental Practice in Morden, Surrey and lived in the flat above the surgery. A couple of years later, he expanded with a second surgery in Byfleet, Surrey. By now the family was growing, so they moved to a larger house in Langshott Close, Woodham, closeby to Byfleet.
The family continued to grow and, in 1969, they moved yet again to Camberley, Surrey where the children attended local schools. The family enjoyed many a holiday in Wales, and the boys, together with their dad, developed a keen interest in table tennis, amassing a huge collection of medals and trophies over the years.
Karen meanwhile enjoyed ballet and music, performing in many shows and piano recitals.
Nowadays, despite the children having flown the nest, Gabriel and Florence still reside in Camberley but enjoy regular trips back to Malaysia to catch up with the folks.
The four children are now all married and, between them, have blessed Gabriel and Florence with nine grandchildren, whom, naturally, they love to spoil!
